Captain's performance gets 1sts out of the mire.

The 1st XI picked up another 3 points in the away trip to Cowling. Some indifferent batting, which was only saved by Hes (37) and an encouraging 16 from young Clarky helped post a low (but could have been worse) 82. Cowling lost a few early wickets at 20-3 but a solid partnership got them to 69-4 before the fun really started. Hes bought himself into the attacked and turned the game on its head, figures of 10-6-8-4, supported by Mattys second 4for in a row saw the boys home by 5 runs.
Elsewhere, Cullingworth beat Sandy Lane and Embsay edged home by 1wkts against Embsay.

The 2nds had another horrible batting performance in trying to chase down 95 this week against Chatburn. Clarky and Cat both took 4 fors, but some much needed batting practice is required throughout. We fell from 41-1 to 57 all out as only Woody and Cat reached double figures.

As stated above the club has added two new faces (Chris Capstick and Ben Hall), with John Hillary returning to Embsay after a year with us. With the additional availability in the 2nd XI it could be a competitive season for both sides.

This years Cowling Cup final has been awarded to Bradley CC. After the success of last years Wynn Cup semi, we get the chance to once again host a prestigious league event.
